We have had a problem with our apple laptop connecting to wifi since we got the router and now many months in an ipad that has had daily use on the wifi is no longer able to connect. There are so many mentions elsewhere on the internet of problems with apple devices and the plusnet routers so please can someone confirm what actions I need to take in order to have all my apple devices working on wifi with plusnet?? Not happy that your router is not compatible with all devices.

Which router do you have?
if it's the new hub one, then separating the 2.4 and 5ghz wifi signals can help, adding a 5 to the ssid will help identify which network you can see.

Hi @macnicol
Welcome to the forums.
The normal thing to do is to change the WiFi SSID names so that the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz names are different. Most people just add a 5 to the name for the 5Ghz band.
Assuming you have the Plusnet Home Hub One , then there are instructions at https://www.plus.net/help/broadband/router-user-guides/ on how to connect to the router and change WiFi settings. Just click on the picture for the Plusnet device you have.
You need to untick the WiFi setting for "Sync with 2.4Ghz (5Ghz band only)" and then change the SSID name for the 5Ghz band.
Also on the Apple device, you now choose which WiFi name each device should connect to.
Another change is to disable IPv6 on the Apple device too if you are not using it.
Try the WiFi name change only first as that tends to do the trick.

Had problems with the iPad my American grandson brought with him for a short stay. Despite 3 lengthy LiveChat attempts, including 3 different people entering the password (including case sensitive), turning the router off and on, and finally re-setting it - nothing worked. Later referring to an experienced Apple user she advised turning the iPad off and on again and amazingly the problem was resolved.
This is an old thread but thought it worthwhile passing this experience on - for what it is worth!
