Wireless won't connect.....sometimes....GRRRRR

I have a Dell laptop (Windows 10) and a BT Smart Hub that every now and again the laptop refuses to connect to the wireless network. If I manually try to connect to the network Windows tells me that I cannot connect. My wireless adaptor and the drivers are working fine. The remedy it seems, is for me to reboot the Smart Hub, then the laptop connects. Other devices such as Ipads and phones all connect fine and work properly, it only appears to be the laptop. I cannot repeat the problem it seems to be random. Any ideas anyone?

Does your Dell laptop support 2.4 and 5 GHz wireless?

If yes, I can only suggest you log into the Smart Hub and separate the 2.4 and 5 GHz wireless, by giving the 5 GHz wireless a different name.

Thanks for the reply.

I already have the frequencies split, that was the first thing I did when I configured the router.

Re: Wireless won't connect

Try giving the same names; does that help.?

Have you checked local wifi congestion*, and tried changing channels?
Is router next to a dect phone? (known interference generator!) If so move one of items.

*Use the free app inSSIDer.
