Windows Update not working on my Wifi network

Hello,

I have Windows 10 on my laptop and a 2704n router.

Windows Update is not working (it says "Pending Download" for all entries and never changes), and after much investigation, I have possibly traced the problem to the Wireless network - as it works okay if I tether my laptop to my Android phone, connecting to the Giffgaff network.

Apart from the Windows Update (and Microsoft Store which similarly gets stuck on pending download), other internet functions seem to be working ok on my laptop.

I've tried a factory reset of my router, but still get the same problem.

Any ideas?

I forgot to say I also connected my laptop to the router with an Ethernet cable and that didn't work either. So it might be a problem with the Broadband rather than the Wireless.

I resolved this by getting a new router from PlusNet.

Before doing that, it might be worth trying to factory reset the router with a paperclip.
