Wifi Discs

I have been looking at the BT Mini Wifi Discs and am trying to find out if they will work with Plusnet. We have a Hub One with Unlimited Fibre. Has anyone tried them and do they work well (I'm looking at the 3-pack).

We have a problem with connection being weak/flakey at the back of the house and I thought these might help. Doesn't seem to be any option to 'Chat' with someone and I don't want to call when it's not urgent.

Thanks.

Re: Wifi Discs

A mate has these and while they gave a great improvement on wifi coverage the speed he gets is really poor.

Re: Wifi Discs

I don't have any experience of the mini, but did a write up on the original ones here https://community.plus.net/t5/Tech-Help-Software-Hardware-etc/BT-Whole-Home-Wifi-with-PN/m-p/1652505...

Re: Wifi Discs

Thank you! Whilst I didn't understand some of the more technical bits of your review, the fact that they help and through thicker walls (if I understood that correctly) is very useful to know.

Re: Wifi Discs

It depends on many things, and sadly sometimes isn't straight forward.
What is the construction of the walls? You might need to think about placement before ordering any.

Re: Wifi Discs

Hub is in the living room and then kitchen/dining room behind that with stairs (wall either side) in between, think brick both sides. I have ordered the mini ones, worst case scenario will return if no good. Will look at moving hub if we can, if that might help.

Re: Wifi Discs

@janeybeans sorry, I meant to reply sooner.

The speed he gets connected to the discs is slower than speeds when connected to the router wifi.

However, there are parts of his house where the router wifi just doesn't reach - which is the point of the discs.

There are other solutions but at £74 for 3 the mini wifi discs seem OK.
