Hi @amberb998 and welcome to the forums.
Is it a Plusnet Hub One (PNH1) by any chance?
If it is, there are some recent reports of glitchy WiFi. Again, assuming it is a PNH1, then log into it http://192.168.1.254 and check what software it's running, it's shown at the bottom of any page.
An example of what it should or indeed will be is as I posted over here
Although I've been wrong many times, my gut feeling the new software is somehow messing with older software versions - if that's actually possible?

Ok, well that kinda rules out a version that's too old.
I'd go with Gels advice then

I’ve just checked the software which is 4.7.5.1.83.8.259 which I think is the current version, but it still seems to be dropping out constantly.
I believe that this is a recent version with known wireless issues and is being upgraded to xxx.263. Hopefully a Plusnet staffer will come along and push the latest version out to your router.

Hi @amberb998,
Please accept my apologies for the issue with your broadband service.
So that we can provide you with relevant support, was the account signed up through ourselves or a 3rd party?
Thank you.

Thank you for confirming @amberb998,
After testing the line, your connection appears intermittent rather than being an issue solely related to wireless connectivity. I'm afraid that as the account is owned by the company that deals with your student bills, you will need to contact them to raise a fault.
In the meantime, please try our troubleshooting steps and connect your router to the test socket as this will help reduce the chance of the fault being within the boundaries of your property.
