WPA2 connection problems on 2.4Ghz

I'm having real trouble connecting to the 2.4Ghz network with my standard PlusOne router when using WPA2. Sometimes it's fine, but then for weeks on end I'll be asked to enter the wifi password which may be rejected multiple times even when it's correct. It's been pretty infuriating.

This doesn't happen with 5Ghz, nor with WPA or WEP, and I've tried changing the wireless key, the channel (both automatic and a range of manual options) and even the interface type. Help!

Re: WPA2 connection problems on 2.4Ghz

What wireless devices are you using, and do they all have the same issue on the 2.4 GHz wifi?

Re: WPA2 connection problems on 2.4Ghz

Thanks for the reply bill888; the only device I have which uses 2.4 Ghz is a 2011 Macbook Pro. It worked perfectly with my old sky router, and with other routers; and the problem started only after getting the Plusnet One so I'm fairly confident the problem is with the router.

Re: WPA2 connection problems on 2.4Ghz

Are you using different names for the 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks?

Nope, they're the same name ejs; should I change them to be different?

Fix

Yes, I think there's a box to untick to stop it keeping the names the same.

Re: WPA2 connection problems on 2.4Ghz

That's brilliant, thanks ejs/bil888, have made the change and all seems to be working fine now. Will let you know if the problem reoccurs but in the meantime, thanks so much for all your help.
