Upgrade to HubOne

I have been a Plusnet customer since 2012 and have just found out about the HubOne router for fibre customers, am I able to upgrade to this to improve my connection stability / wifi?

Many thanks,

Lee

Re: Upgrade to HubOne

Your best bet would be to contact the Customer Options Team on 0800 013 2632 selecting option 1 then option 2 (If you are thinking of leaving). You may have to re-contract if you only want to pay p&p for the new router.

Re: Upgrade to HubOne

I think its about £99 if not within 3 months of Contract or renewal date or if within then its just £6.99 Postage.

The Hub One is a refurb Type A BT Home Hub 5, With Plus net white and Pink Markings. You may be better off buying from ebay a BT Smart Hub 6 which works with Plusnet  on ADSL and FTTC usual price around £40 mark . There are plenty of Threads re the Plusnet Hub one

to set BT Smart Hub 6 up with Plusnet see Post 41 here

They, and the BT HH5 are available for a lot less on the well known internet auction site! The HUb1 is based on the HH5.

@Leekhayes

Possibly best to start with "why are you interested in replacing your existing router" ?

While the Hub One is by no means a bad "free" router and elegant as a one box solution for fibre it can be limiting.

There are various "aftermarket" routers at different price points. People have their preferences. TP Link sell equipment which is excellent value for money. If you want a more "business grade" router then I like Draytek products.

Start off with specifically what makes you dissatisfied with your current router and work from there.

There are many wise people on the Plusnet community who can help you to make a choice but only you know what you want.

@Leekhayes

A good list of all in one modem/router devices and a discussion on them is available at
