TG582n Problem

So! Basically BT had left my line disconnected whilst connecting a new line to the pole for another house. I rang up, however I had, like a numpty, forgotten my password. I changed it and didn’t change it in the router. BT have now sorted my line, however I need to change the password in my router. I navigate to the internet services page, enter my new password, however I keep getting an error message “Connection could not be established: Disconnected by user” I spoke on webchat with Plusnet, who just kept trying to get me to sign up to a new contract for a new router.

This might sound stupid but I assume that you are logging in to the router with the router password before trying to change the Plusnet password?

I am indeed, as admin, using the password beginning with CP.

Have you tried a Factory Reset on the router by inserting a pin or similar in the appropriat hole, holding it in for several seconds then starting again with entering your user name and password etc. from scratch?

You can request  a reset or a reminder of your password emailed to you . It's time limited and the link sent will expire after an hour.
