Switching router on and off

Been having problems for some time now

Apologies in advance for not being that technically minded

I have a Plusnet router which is situated on a window sill with ventilation

I am finding that my wifi connection on my Iphone and tablet is dropping out regularly, ie daily.  I also use a laptop at the same time which is not really affected. The only way to regain wifi on all items is to switch the router off and back on again.  This seems to rectify it but only for perhaps a day then the connection drops off again.

I dont believe the problem lies with my phone or tablet as the maintain wifi connection at other peoples addresses

Any help / suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: Switching router on and off

You could try splitting the 2.4 and 5GHz wifi bands, it helps with Apple products.

Navigate in a web browser to 192.168.1.254.

Click Advanced Settings

Enter your Hub admin password when prompted (unless you've changed it, you'll find the default password on the settings card)
Continue to Advanced Settings.
Click on Wireless.
Click 5GHz tab.
Change 'Sync with 2.4Ghz' to No.
Change the name of the 'Wireless SSID' - I added a '_5' on the end.
Save the changes.

You can then select which one you want per device.
