Switch from BT to Plusnet and keep the equipment

My BT Superfast Fibre Halo 1 Complete Wi-Fi contract is up for renewal at the end of this month (May 2021).

The contract started in November 2019.

I'm thinking of switching to Plusnet Fibre Extra because it will save me £25 per month, but I want to keep my Smart Hub 2 and also my two complete wifi disks.

Do you think I will I be charged for keeping this equipment ?

Has anybody done something similar recently ?

@Badgerboots

The charging applies to contracts taken out after December 2019 so the chances are that you do not have to return it. See here for settings.  https://community.plus.net/t5/My-Router/Using-A-BT-Smarthub-An-Update/m-p/1795292#M24601. To be sure check your BT contract terms which is bound to tell you if hardware is returnable/chargeable. If you have lost your copy check the BT website.

However be aware that some of the Smarthub 2 bells and whistles are controlled through an App that only works if you have a BT account.
