Have been using the Netgear WNR1000 router for several years. Now, out of the blue, I cannot login to it. Tried pinging the IP address but can't see it at all. The router is still working fine as far as I can tell but I can't change anything. Any ideas?
Connect with a different cable, to a different ethernet port maybe? Have you tried more than 1 device to make sure it's not just that one having the issue.

I've tried with PC via LAN, laptop using LAN and using WiFi and another laptop using WiFi but all to no avail. I fear I may have to do a factory reset with all the grief that will entail. However since I don't need to make any changes at present I shall probably put off the evil day!
