Specify devices on 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz

Hello,

I am wondering if it is possible to specify what devices connect to 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz with a bound WiFi network.

I want everything under the same SSID but want to specify what is on each band.

Ideally I would like everything in the room with my router on 5Ghz then everything else in the house on 2.4Ghz. I cannot see a way to do this without splitting and renaming the networks.

It seems possible to do this on the latest BT home hub. Plusnet use the same hubs I believe.

You'll need to have unique SSID's.

Thanks, I have since done that and it has improved things. I was concerned devices (amazon echo, phone etc) wouldn’t talk to each other across the two networks but it seems to be ok.
