@bobpullen - thanks for the update.

If you need any more information from me then please let me know.

If a back up configuration file for the router would help then I can let you have one.

Hi Steve (and others), apologies for the silence.

Yes please, the backup config would be helpful, best to send in private though.

I've also just dropped you a PM.

Re: Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.237.2.2 : No devices showing on the network map

@dakers, are you using DHCP on the router, or do you have it disabled as well? I'm going to work from home tomorrow and take the opportunity to replace the router on my home network with a Hub One running the firmware in question.

I have another DHCP server I can use but it's extra hassle so would be easier for me if I didn't have to reconfigure things.

I'm running a bunch of services behind my router, and have tens of clients connected so in theory I should hit issues pretty early on.

Hi Bob, I've got DHCP disabled on the router, and I'm running it on the pi behind it.
Happy to let you have a copy of my config or anything if you need it. I work from home all the time, but can drop on to tethering if you want to have a try with anything too.

Re: Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.237.2.2 : No devices showing on the network map

I suspect that it's not using the local DHCP server that is causing the problem.... if the local devices were using the DHCP server in the router then it would know what devices were on the network because it would have issued the IP addresses. I think when you're not using the local DHCP server then the network discovery is extremely lazy...

Re: Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.237.2.2 : No devices showing on the network map

Righto, cheers.

I'll run it half the day using the router's DHCP, and then switch responsibility to my Raspberry Pi. If I'm going to leave it for any period of time I'd rather run things using the latter config anyway.

Re: Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.237.2.2 : No devices showing on the network map

All set up. I'll leave the router's DHCP server running through 'til lunchtime then disable it and switch to the Pi:

Bunch of port forwarding rules in place, and I get alerts if any of the servers become unreachable from the Internet:

Edit: just noticed the device at 192.168.1.101 shows as not connected. It is, and it's reachable from the Internet.

Re: Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.237.2.2 : No devices showing on the network map

And minutes later:

That's my smartphone, again definitely connected Huh

Edit: Lost the phone from the network map entirely now, and my Airplay speaker has also dropped off. I'm using my phone as I type, and I have Internet radio streaming to the airplay speaker from a wired desktop.

Edit again: Now lost a tablet, that's still browsing away happily. At this rate, I'm not sure I'll need to disable DHCP on the router!

Re: Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.237.2.2 : No devices showing on the network map

I found that once the network map had "seen" a device (even if it showed as disconnected) then port forwarding based on MAC addresses worked, even if the device subsequently fell off the map.  It didn't matter if a device was on or off the network map for things like surfing the net.

On reboot (with local DHCP turned off) it can take several hours for it to discover a specific device.

This is what happened when i had to reboot last night:.... This device is in the DMZ (which can only be configured using MAC addresses / known devices )

Re: Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.237.2.2 : No devices showing on the network map

I've lost my wired desktop now 192.168.1.100. Still using the router's DHCP, although the device does have an IP statically assigned to the network adapter. I temporarily deleted my port forwarding rules, and am waiting for it to re-appear before I set them up again. I don't want to assign rules to the IP, rather than the MAC/hostname, as I suspect that will mask the issue.

Going to leave the router's DHCP on for the time being as we've got some stuff to work with here.

@SteveA & @dakers, are either of you using Powerline adapters?

@bobpullen, yep, I've got a pair of Zyxel ones between the router and one of my servers.

Re: Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.237.2.2 : No devices showing on the network map

Hi Guys,

Has there been any progress made on this. Yesterday, I needed to reboot my router due to problems with y Wi-Fi (usually need to do this once a month).

Since rebooting, my hub I not showing any of my internal servers. I have an internal DHCP and DNS server. I'm most concerned about my email server which is setup in the port forwarding configuration, but because it's not showing in the devices, the port forwarding is not working.

How can I get this working again.

Re: Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.237.2.2 : No devices showing on the network map

@InteraX -  a quick dirty fix is to set the port forwarding rules to use IP addresses rather than MAC addresses (which as discovery seems to be be broken it doesn't know), I don't like it but it's what I had to do to get things working - assuming that is that your main servers have hard coded IP addresses

Re: Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.237.2.2 : No devices showing on the network map

When I read that earlier, I couldn't find the option under port forwarding. I've just found it under firewall.

Hopefully this should resolve the issue. I prefer using the IP address. My servers are VMs, so depending on what I do, the MAC address could change.

I don't like the hub interface or the way it does this stuff.
