Same router before and after upgrade?

I'm upgrading to fibre shortly, and I have received the new router, which I think is a Hub 1. I've got a couple of questions.

1 If I plug in the new router before the upgrade, will it work on the current ADSL broadband?

2 If I leave it plugged in during the fibre upgrade, will it work with no intervention on the new broadband.

I'm asking this because I'm going to be away when the upgrade happens. However, on my home network I've got a device that I can log in to remotely. Naturally I'd like to be able to log into this device remotely before and after the upgrade while I'm away.

To answer your questions

1) Yes it'll work fine on ADSL

2) Yes it'll automatically connect up once the work at the cabinet is completed.
