Router rebooting spontainusly

Hi,

I am getting fed up with my router rebooting randomly over the week and I loose my connection to my work computers and my phone lines (as they are voip phones I have lost one call this month so far) Like most pepole I am working from home at the moment

I need someone from Support to send me a new router as every post I have seen on here say the watchdog reset (cause: 0x3) is due to a faulty router.

@Lesgable  Welcome to the fotum.

I have never read this clause in thew contract. Can you help by quoting the clause number?

As I understand it Plusnet supply a hub with a 12 month guarantee and if this fauls during a contract they willnormally replace it as a goodwill gesture. But I could be wrong.

Re: Router rebooting spontainusly

@Lesgable  Do you have a Siemens Gigaset VOIP phone.? There seems to be a problem with some VOIP ata hardware that causes the router to crash and report a watchdog error, Have a look at this thread, particularly from message #28 onwards.

https://community.plus.net/t5/My-Router/Hub-One-Router-keeps-on-restarting-almost-every-day-for-no/t...

@bobpullen  is investigating this problem and may be able to push some test firmware to the router that may help you.

On the other hand the Hub 1 is not the greatest router and has a number of other problems particularly with wi-fi. Many Plusnet customers have abandoned the Hub 1 and use a BT Home Hub 6 instead, which is known to work well.

Re: Router rebooting spontainusly

@Lesgable - I've just pushed an update to your router that fixes the VoIP issue @RealAleMadrid has mentioned. You'll need to switch the router off/back on to apply it.

If the watchdog resets continue then let me now and I'll get a replacement shipped.

@Lesgable - I've arranged dispatch of a replacement. Let me know if the restarts persist once you have it up and running.
