Router making hissing sound

I just switched from BT.  The router makes a constant hissing sound.  Does anyone know how to fix this?  It's especially annoying because it's right by my bed. Thanks

@Flagstaffer  Welcome to the forum.

If you still have your BT Hub then use that. Many of us use a BR Smarthub 6 as they are better (and quiet) than the Plusnet Hub One, which is an old BT Home Hub 5A with Plusnet firmware.

Yeah, It's still hissing, but I have gotten used to it.  I'm planning to change over to BT - a little nervous about that. I was all set to do it this week - it's been a busy week - but then the doorbell went, so I was saved.  

Can I get onto the 192.number without being hooked up to internet.  That's the part I'm worried about.  Because if I unplug the plusnet router and don't have the other router connected.   But I'm assuming that I can - so am planning to go for it - one of these days when the house  is quiet.  

I'll let you know how it goes.  Plusnet drops a lot - but BT did too, so I guess we are used to that.

Yes, it's a local IP address that has nothing to do with the actual Internet connection.
