Router lagging after a few hours

Hi,

My router is causing ping spikes after a few hours, I'm currently having to reboot every few hours to resolve the issue.    With working from home on voice calls and having two kids playing online games, it's a problem.

Pinging the gateway on the router shows the same ping spike pattern as I get pinging google dns(8.8.8.8) simultaneously.   I get the same results on wired or wireless.

Is this a common fault,  I signed up for Plusnet around 3 years ago.   Do these routers have issues after time?

the ping spike occurs at random times but gets progressively worse.   It starts with one ping hitting about 2000ms, maybe every minute, then drops to every few seconds.  it can return to every minute or so, but always either a +2000 ms packet or a completely dropped packet.

Regards,

Neil.

Re: Router lagging after a few hours

I spoke to Customer Support, they're sending me a new router.
