Router is creaking and has cobwebs in its firmware

Hi,

I have resorted to the power button today on the router, it decided massive packet loss was a good thing and would not serve the web management page so it had an enforced rest.

This has happened a couple of time since but it has managed to recover.

The firmware looks to be a bit old

3 - Firmware version: 7.273.1_F2704N_Plusnet
4 - Board version: F@ST2704N
5 - Mode Fibre

I believe you need to push the firmware for updates to this device ?

Can somebody wind a handle somewhere to make this happen please

Re: Router is creaking and has cobwebs in its firmware

Hey if you are all a bit busy to push a firmware update, that's OK, these are unprecedented times after all.

I might just buy another bit of hardware to replace both the boxes and lob this kit in the bin.
When I say bin I mean the W.E.E. skip when I can go there again.

I'll make sure the new kit also works with Zen, just in case that becomes plan B.

Re: Router is creaking and has cobwebs in its firmware

Fix

Not sure if it's likely to help with your problem, but I've just pushed a more recent firmware to your device. It will have rebooted to apply the update.

Re: Router is creaking and has cobwebs in its firmware

Many Thanks Bob!

It was lagging like Quake on Dial-up at points, lets see how it goes with less cobwebs.

Re: Router is creaking and has cobwebs in its firmware

Just to follow up, this seems have made a huge improvement to throughput and stability!

It could just be people have been slacking off as its Friday but I am happy with this upgrade.

Thanks again Bob.

Re: Router is creaking and has cobwebs in its firmware

Hi @bobpullen

Any chance you can push the latest firmware to my router, with the 5Ghz fixes.

I'm a returning customer (activated on 30th) and have had to resort to dusting off my old Hub 1 as new router was only dispatched after a call to support and is still in the post.

Current firmware is Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.237.2.2 | Last updated 27/10/17

Thanks

Hi @bobpullen .

Could you do the same for me please?

Plusnet Hub One | Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.263 | Last updated 28/03/19

Thanks

Re: Router is creaking and has cobwebs in its firmware

@tonycathome & @rjweath, this thread is about the Plusnet Hub Zero, not the Plusnet Hub One.

Regardless, I've pushed an update to your router @tonycathome - you'll need to reboot to apply it.

@rjweath, I've replied to the message you sent me.

For anyone else who may be looking for Hub One updates, please refer to the thread here.
