Router Max MTU

What's the Max MTU on the Plusnet Hub one (for local network) ?

On my Technicolor TG582n  it seems to be 1500 on local network.

Have tried adjusting via Telnet but get:

{admin}=>ip iflist
Interface Group MTU RX TX Admin Oper
1   loop. . . . . . . . . . . . . .  local  4096  7636 KB    8422 KB    UP     [UP]
2   Internet. . . . . . . . . . . .  wan    1492  345 MB     98 MB      UP     UP
3   LocalNetwork. . . . . . . . . .  lan    1500  107 MB     349 MB     UP     [UP]
4   Multicast . . . . . . . . . . .  wan    1500  5014       6752       UP     UP

{admin}=>ip ifconfig intf=LocalNetwork mtu=9000
MTU too large: maximum allowed MTU for interface LocalNetwork is 1500.

Background:
I've set MTU on PC and NAS to 9,000 and connect them via a gigabit switch. All fine.
But fiddling around with porttrunking on the new NAS I'm running out of space on my 5-port gigabit switch - so I tried connecting my PC via the router (I know will just be 100mbps) however connection is very sketchy. Guessed it might be a MTU issue so went to change it on the router - but no go....

Wondered if upgrading to the Hub One might help.

Not a long term issue - gigabit switch is only full while I migrate from the 2 old NAS to the new one and have them all connected.
