Router Hacked??

Hi, 

I have run an avast check and it is saying my router has been hacked and it is a serious threat, I do not know how to tell if it has been or not.

I have attached a screen shot of what avast has said.  Can anyone help?

Open the router web page, 192.168.1.254
Navigate to the dns settings (depends on your router where they are) You will need the user/password for the router to access them.
Check they are either the PN servers or set them to 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.6.6 (Google's servers)
CHANGE the router password if it is still the default one.

Hi,  Thank for the advice, I have a hub one router and I cannot find the PN Servers. Sorry I'm not very good at this kind of thing.

given the difficulty of hacking the Plusnet router - compared to piggybacking onto the wireless - can you provide the exact report as it may well be a false alarm based upon the TR69 facility

I did have a similar "warning" issued to me when I (briefly) used one of the avast av programs. It said my router was using the default password which it is not.
Since it is a hub one, just ignore it. It is scaremongering wanting you to buy yet another of their products.

DNS settings are locked on the HubOne router unlike majority on market.
You can only amend to suggested DNS settings above by adjusting on each connected device.
