Remote management of Plusnet Hub One

I need to be able to remotely manage my Plusnet Hub One router.

I cannot see this option on the menu.

Other posts indicate that this is not available.

If so, will Plusnet send me one that has this facility, for free of course?

Re: Remote management of Plusnet Hub One

BT and Plusnet don't offer routers with remote management capability for customers to use.

If you want remote management capability, you will have to buy and install your own third party router.

Another more 'complicated' option is perhaps to install a VPN server wired to the Hub One.

Thanks for the quick reply.

How do I install a VPN?

Re: Remote management of Plusnet Hub One

That's an open ended question...

Googled one of many results:

Setting up a VPN server wouldn't be first choice.  Far easier to just buy a new £70-£100 VDSL router to replace the Hub One  if all you want to do is remotely access it and nothing more.

Re: Remote management of Plusnet Hub One

Hi,

If you have a pc on your network always switched on you could use remote access software like Teamviewer. Teamviewer is free for non business use.

I have a raspberry pi setup as a VPN server on my network.
