Remote access

Folks,

My daughter and I both have plusnet. I look after some of her network issues using SSH and shared key loggin.

I'd like to access her router remotely but seem to be having problems.

Using SSH and port redirection through a tunnel gets refused access - probably because I'm on a different subnet.

I can connect using openvpn but again have no luck, probably due to routing issues.

Any suggestions? I'd prefer access over a secure connection.

I had VNC going fine via an ssh tunnel but for some reason now with VNC all I get is a file manager, no desktop.

I only want to view the router admin so ssh or VPN should provide a remedy somehow.
