Red Power Light on router - no connection

My connection suddenly dropped last night and I haven't been able to connect since. The router displays a red light under power as soon as it is switched on after the green lights briefly flicker. I have tried switching the power off via the router and via the mains and held the reset button for 20 seconds with a pin but still all the router displays is the red power light.

Re: Red Power Light on router - no connection

That's normally a dead router. Depending on your contract status, give customer options a bell and see if they'll get you a new one with a new contract or pick one up. Depending on whether your fibre or ADSL you'll need to make sure you get the right type of router for your connection but BT routers work (hub 5 or smart hub I think) or anything that's not from another provider. Think Netgear or tp link sort of thing. You'll just need to set it up with your details.

Welcome to the community forums @Windmill42

Aye it does look like your router has developed a fault. Sad
