Reconfiguring Red port from PPPoE to TCP

Hi this post related to another I have running:

https://community.plus.net/t5/My-Router/Using-old-Plusnet-Router-as-a-firewall/td-p/1815760

Has anyone reconfigured the Red Port on there router from PPPoE to TCP, I understand this can be done with Open WRT.

I also understand you need to flash the memory on the router to enable.

Any ideas ?

@1R27cD5n

Have you had a search on the BT forum? The Hub One is really a BT Home Hub 5a with tweeked firmware.

Re: Reconfiguring Red port from PPPoE to TCP

Have you had a search on the BT forum?

Yes thats a good suggestion, I will take a look, I also have Plusnet routers ... so any wonder if anyone has flashed one of those with Open WRT.

This page suggests they lack enough memory, but I need to check the model numbers I have for the plusnet routers I have.
https://openwrt.org/toh/plusnet/fast2704nv1

I have a  BT Home Hub 5 and the site suggests this has enough memory.

So has anyone flashed a Plusnet Router with Open WRT ? or is that likely a dead end knowing the above.

I see another Open Source firmware DD WRT, which seems easier to install and run, but does not support any PN or BT hubs sadly, so guess Open WRT is the option.
