Plusnet Hub Zero versus 10-year old Thomson SpeedTouch TG585v7 (o2 Wireless Box II)

I understand that the Plusnet Hub Zero is a poor router compared to current models.... I haven't joined Plusnet yet, I'm still with Sky using a very old "o2 Wireless Box II" (a rebadged Thomson SpeedTouch  TG585v7) from 2009. I don't have many problems with it signal-strength/speed wise. Will the Plusnet Hub Zero still be better than a 10-year-old ADSL router?

Hey. Thanks for choosing thinking about to joining us.

While I'm unsure of all the spec's it looks like the Thomson you have uses the Wireless-G standard, but our Hub Zero is Wireless-N so the WiFi performance should be better though if it's possible you may be able to use the Thomson with our service by configuring it with your connection details providing the router isn't locked down to Sky.

From 31st October 2022, I no longer have a regular presence here as I’ve moved on to a new role.
