Is it worth replacing my Asus N56u with newly supplied PlusNet Hub One?
Thanks in advance

I very much doubt it - if you are talking about Huawei modem vs BT HH5B; or an ECI modem vs BT HH5A or Plusnet Hub One. HH4's and earlier are not directly compatible with FTTC and so need to be used with a modem.
You can also use an HH5 / Hub One connected to a modem, using the WAN port on the HH/Hub One. That is something you can try without upsetting your connection to the Cab, but it will depend on your own network setup as to whether the HH/Hub One can be configured to what you need.
