Plusnet Hub One. "connection not secure"

Hello. I'm being connected today I've been told. Internet is working now though, so I want to use it.

My problem is with 192.168.1.254 hub manager -> advanced settings

I'm using Firefox browser. It has a little padlock in the address bar with a red line through it. When clicked on it says "connection is not secure"

I noticed because when I clicked the password box, it said "This connection is not secure. Logins entered here could be compromised."

A live chat advisor said it is normal, and is the same for him, but I'm pretty worried about it still. Is it the same for others when they go to access their router settings?

Thanks.

Re: Plusnet Hub One. "connection not secure"

Fix

That's pretty normal.  That is browser saying that it is a http connection rather than a https connection, so that data sent to that webpage is in clear text rather than encrypted.  Basically if there was someone on your network (between you and your router) then they could intercept the traffic and see the username and password (and anything else) that you enter.

That's not really an issue across your home network.  I'm not come across (that I've noticed) a router that has https on the lan side.
