Plusnet Hub One - Firmware update

Hi Plusnet community, I've had a Plusnet Hub One for the last year or so but I've never actually been provided with an update to my router. This hasn't ever been an issue but I have recently set up a Steam Link in my house and it appears to struggle a little with stuttering.

Would it be possible for the latest firmware to be pushed out to my router please? I am currently using...

Re: Plusnet Hub One - Firmware update

Hi @Bashy123, thanks for your post.

In order to get a manual update pushed out, we'd recommend posting here, where our resident router king will be able to pick up your post and arrange for that update.

If you need anything else at all, please let us know.

Re: Plusnet Hub One - Firmware update

@Bashy123, that's a really old firmware build which suggests there's some problem communicating with your router. I've re-registered the device at this side. Are you able to carry out a factory reset by inserting something into the pinhole at the rear of the device until the status light flashes green?

Hopefully within a day or two of doing this, you'll see the newest firmware build pushed to you.

Re: Plusnet Hub One - Firmware update

Hi Bob,

I will happily do this when I am home from my work tonight. Is there an easy way for me to export my tcp/udp mappings/DMZ/any other settings to reimport once the update is done? Or should I just take a note of what I've done and re-apply once the update has been pushed through?

Re: Plusnet Hub One - Firmware update

I would wait until the update is complete before reimporting/reconfiguring any of your settings. It could be something specific to your config that's blocking the communication.

If you give me a nudge once the factory reset is complete then I may be able to force things through earlier to minimise the inconvenience.

Re: Plusnet Hub One - Firmware update

Hi Bob,

I've just completed the Factory Reset of my router now. I couldn't see the button on the back/top or bottom but I have done this through the Plusnet Hub Manager. Please let me know if you are able to push this through to me, thanks.

Thanks, your router's going for a reboot now to apply the update.

Re: Plusnet Hub One - Firmware update

Hi Bob,

Thanks, that looks as though this is now running Firmware 4.7.5.1.83.8.263, which I assume is the newest version available for my router. I will test to see if this has resolved my issue.

Thank you

Re: Plusnet Hub One - Firmware update

Hi @linnyuk

As it looks like you're on a very old firmware version I've re-added your router onto the hardware component on your account and I'd now recommend doing a factory reset of your router by pushing a paperclip into the reset pinhole at the back for 20 seconds. You should then see the firmware update within 48 hours.

From 31st October 2022, I no longer have a regular presence here as I’ve moved on to a new role.
