Re: Plusnet Hub One Firmware update

@20min_wait_zz, are you able to leave it a few days so we can be sure there's definitely a correlation? If things remain stable then we can try downgrading re-enabling the Kindle, and if the problem returns, try downgrading your firmware version.

@bobpullen

Done as suggested, split the 5ghz and 2.4ghz. 2.4ghz lags enormously when playing simplest mobile game. 5ghz seems ok

Re: Plusnet Hub One Firmware update

@bobpullen, I do have another Fire HDX that has the previous Fire OS installed on it (4.5.5.2) that has never connected to my hub, so if you want I can test with that too.

Still no issues with wireless since Fire HDX turned off

Re: Plusnet Hub One Firmware update

@20min_wait_zz, thanks. I have a Kindle Fire HDX on its way to me so should hopefully be able to replicate this issue in our test environment next week.

Would you like me to downgrade your firmware? Be aware that it will wipe any non-default config you have e.g. changes to the SSID or wi-fi password.

Re: Plusnet Hub One Firmware update

I've now received the Kindle Fire and am pleased (?) to report that I'm able to replicate the fault condition in our test environment.

@20min_wait_zz, your router is going down for a reboot to apply the downgrade now.

Re: Plusnet Hub One Firmware update

Many thanks @bobpullen, following your post in the other thread, my Hub One router has now updated its firmware today as you expected.

I thought I would provide an update here though now, as it seems more appropriate.

My hub is on firmware 4.7.5.1.83.8.259.1.1

I use BT Whole Home for WiFi, so hopefully I will not the experience the issues as documented in this thread but will advise if any problems. Also, the Hub One connects to an Openreach HG612 for the DSL connection.

Thanks again.

Re: Plusnet Hub One Firmware update

@drsteth, your router may not have updated because we've only pushed the latest update to ~1/4 of devices so far. I've just forced the upgrade through for your device, but I can't guarantee it's going to help with your problem.

Re: Plusnet Hub One Firmware update

@Xemik, @BaltiSalty and @20min_wait_zz - I have a favour to ask if any of you would be willing?

I've a pre-release firmware build that I'm hoping fixes the issues you've all been helpful in diagnosing so far. It comes with caveats as it's not been fully tested, but I would be keen to know whether or not it works for you.

It's a more recent build number to the version you're running so upgrading /shoudl/ retain your existing config. If we need to downgrade again at a later date though, then things will revert to defaults.

Let me know if you're prepared to give it a shot.

Re: Plusnet Hub One Firmware update

As you know I've since replaced the PH1, so I'll have to dig it out of hiding to reinstall it. Wink I can do this at the weekend, when the rest of the family are away. Let me know if you still want me to do this.
