It looks like the upgrade has been delayed due to engineer availability in your area.

Apologies for the lack of communication regarding this on our part. The engineering work should be carried out during the day so by the evening you should be on fibre. Let us know how it goes.

Hi @Gandalf so does that mean it will be the 26th? 

And is the incredibly poor connection I've had all day plus a noisy line, likely to be another problem?

Unless the engineer runs into a problem on the day your fibre service should go live then.

The noise on your line is likely something different, can you try the steps Here letting us know how it goes?

We're out in the countryside, with overhead lines for the last bit of the connection. It's not the first time I've had a problem with a noisy line, it's very crackly on getting a dial tone. 

I didn't know whether this wants sorting before the line is upgraded to fibre?

Ah fair. It shouldn't matter whether it's looked at before or after the upgrade, although your fibre connection likely won't perform well when the line is noisy. Can you specifically try the steps here to rule out any internal wiring which may be affecting this?

Sorry @Gandalf connection is dropping every few minutes. There is no internal wiring, phone/router is plugged into master socket, which is a double (new) one.

@Gandalf Have done, but the problem is intermittent, line doesn't sound as noisy atm - check out my connection speeds they've been yo-yoing. I'm going by what the router stats say under Advanced/Broadband/Connection.

Hi @Gandalf , yeah I was on the phone to a mate. I was just thinking it seemed better as it had been connected for nearly 3 hours when it disconnected again about 20 minutes ago! Sad
