Plusnet Hub One Firmware 237 to 259

Hi All (specifically @bobpullen !)

About a year ago we had issues with our supplied Hub One as this was on the ceased update firmware list that Bob kindly reverted (https://community.plus.net/t5/My-Router/Hub-One-Firmware-Updates/td-p/1336565/page/9) and has been fine ever since - under the TR69 logs it reports to be connecting to the correct update path -  CWMP: HTTP authentication success from https://dbtpnhdm.bt.mo

I have read that there is a newer version than Plusnet Hub One | Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.237.2.2 | Last updated 31/01/18

Could someone advise if this - 4.7.5.1.83.8.259.1.1 is a public release and if so why has this not been updated to my Hub one yet?

Thanks for your help in advance!

Re: Plusnet Hub One Firmware 237 to 259

Hi @ChrisaLyd12

4.7.5.1.83.8.259.1.1 is not a public release firmware.

Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.237.2.2 is still a valid version.

If and when a new update is ready, it will be rolled out to customers.

Thanks,

MoR

Re: Plusnet Hub One Firmware 237 to 259

From all the reports of problems with recent firmware versions I read on here, especially if you have any Amazon devices, I would suggest you keep your head down until problems are fixed. As you say, if it ain't broke....

Re: Plusnet Hub One Firmware 237 to 259

Yes, I agree with previous post.  Be careful what you wish for.  They have messed up the firmware and now I can't get a reliable 2.4Ghz signal.  I have had an open ticket since 13th Nov.  Gone through all the motions, answering the same questions over and over again.  Trying everything.  They keep blaming interference, despite nothing in the vicinity changing and me moving to sit almost in front of the router!

I asked for my firmware to be rolled back before Christmas, but I am still waiting.

I now believe that they don't want to roll mine back, because it would prove that there is indeed a problem with the dual signal firmware.

Customer service has been like wading through treacle and has cost me hours and hours of wasted time.

@MatthewWheeler  Thank for your apology, but nobody in Products team is actually pulling their finger out and doing anything to help me or even being honest about what the hold-up is.

Fix

@NTO, for the sake of closure just commented on this thread to confirm that your request has now been attended to.

@ChrisaLyd12, your router has been upgraded to the latest available firmware build (not affected by the Amazon issues etc.). Let me know if you experience any problems.

Hi @bobpullen

Thanks a lot for doing this - not had chance to check the build yet but any release notes available or anything you can advise on what has been improved?

Re: Plusnet Hub One Firmware 237 to 259

Main callouts are upgraded DSL and wi-fi drivers. No formal release notes I can share I'm afraid.

Re: Plusnet Hub One Firmware 237 to 259

Hi @bobpullen

I've just received my Plusnet Hub One as I've upgraded to fibre. Reading this thread I am a bit concerned that I have the new firmware but you say 'no release date'?

The router info shows "Plusnet Hub One | Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.259 | Last updated Unknown" at the bottom of the Home page. Is this okay?

Re: Plusnet Hub One Firmware 237 to 259

@smallblueplanet, I've had an activation policy put in place that will upgrade any newly shipped devices to the latest build within a day or two. You just need to sit tight.

The latest build is now 4.7.5.1.83.8.263 by the way.

Re: Plusnet Hub One Firmware 237 to 259

Thanks. This may sound like a daft question @bobpullen but how will I know my broadband has upgraded from ADSL to fibre?

Re: Plusnet Hub One Firmware 237 to 259

Scheduled for completion on the 26th by the looks of things. Your Broadband will go down briefly on the day, and when it comes back it should re-negotiate at the new speed.

Re: Plusnet Hub One Firmware 237 to 259

Oh, I wondered if it had already happened as the speed seemed faster this morning so I plugged in the new Hub One and it works. It has been a pretty poor connection though, on and off - another thing I wondered about was it a new connection causing the problems or just a [-Censored-] line?

But @bobpullen my sign up email says "This will change over on 25th January 2019"?
