Will I be able to use my past providers ADSL router (NowTV Hub Two) with plusnet broadband?
If so how would I go about it?

I'm not sure about that specific router but Plusnet's settings can be found here.

No.
Sky/NowTV hubs uses MAC Encapsulated Routing (MER). There is no way to reconfigure it to use PPPoA or PPPoE for Plusnet ADSL.

Thank you for that info, unfortunately its way over my tech understanding!
I have copied my router settings below because I noticed it shows - Network TypePPPoA
So could you possibly re-evaluate your kind reply and hopefully in my case the router may be used for Plusnet?
I have looked into the router settings and I think the IP address is able to be changed to match the Plusnet one.
Many thanks

You can't use the NowTV Hub with Plusnet unfortunately.

If you don't believe it then why not just try it? It won't explode in your face.

Thank you for your most helpful reply.
It is not a matter of believing.
When I do get a plusnet line then maybe I might just do that (wearing the appropriate health and safety equipment of course), in the meantime I was hoping to gather some useful knowledge on top of what helpful posters have given me already.

To be able to work with a Plusnet ADSL connection, a router needs to be able to configured for PPPoA with your username and password. The NowTv router does not use a username & password to authenticate, rather it uses the unique MAC address of the router. Without the ability to configure a username & password it will not work with PN.
Hope that helps.

Thank you. I think I get it now.
So routers from the likes of Now and Sky have their users really bound to their own systems then. That's really useful to know when considering changing providers.
