New Setup - Router only connects as setup@plusdsl.net

Hi there, I wonder if someone can help me.

I setup my new plusnet one router yesterday morning and to begin with after a few stops and restarts my device connected and everything seemed okay for a few hours. Last night I couldn’t connect but saw in the help guidance that it can take 24 hours for connection to stabilise.

Today though my router will not connect with my login credentials in the router at all.

I have tried a few factory resets and after the initial reboot with ‘setup@plusdsl.net’ as the login my username ’jonfresh@plusdsl.net’ attaches to the router and looks to connect for around 30 seconds before showing as disconnected.

I have tried manually entering my username and password in the router admin area 192.168.1.254 (same as I use to login to member centre) and this doesn’t work either. Router just shows orange light and static orange ‘b’.

If I click to reset login data in the router admin area the router resets to ‘setup@plusdsl.net’ and then the router light changes to blue - but I still cannot use the internet on my devices.

Am I doing something wrong? Could someone please help with this.

I have seen other users have this problem on the forum and factory reset or manual entry seems to do the trick but not working for me.

@jonfresh  Welcome to the forum.

You have to remove the DSL cable whilst manually changing the log in credentials in your hub. Plug the cable back in whilst it is trying to connect.

Hi, thanks for your help. I have tried this and still the same problem unfortunately.

Just to check I am doing g the right thing..

1. Factory reset router and let it do it’s thing.

2. Go to A-Z and the Set username and password

3. Remove DSL cable from router.

4. Enter plusnet credentials

5. Plug-in DSL cable and then connect

These are the steps I followed with no joy...

Try selecting connect before plugging in the DSL cable. If that doesn’t work it sounds like something has gone wrong at the Plusnet end.

@jonfresh Sounds like your account hasn’t activated. Have you received an email to say your broadband’s ready to use?
