New Asus Router/Modem - DSL-AC55U or DSL-AC68U?

Hi all,

I'm looking to replace my Plusnet modem router with an Asus modem router. I've whittled it down to either the DSL-AC55U or the DSL-AC68U. I see a lot of people are using the DSL-AC68U or the router only equivalent (RT-AC68U) but I wanted to know the benefits of this over the DSL-AC55U especially considering the price difference between the two.

The DSL-AC55U is £81.99 from ebuyer at the moment and the DSL-AC68U is £149.99 from Currys. Connection wise the majority of the time I have the following connecting through powerline adaptors:

Lounge Smart TV

Synology NAS (With two POE CCTV Cameras)

PC

Xbox One

And the following through Wifi:

Kitchen Smart TV

Tado Smart Thermostat

iPhone

Coverage wise my house is an average size family home, three bed detached with a garage.

Any feedback or suggestions would be appreciated

I'd avoid both of those models because they share the same dreadful modem (MediaTek chipset).

Thanks ejs, I have cancelled my order for the DSL-AC55U. I'll keep looking
