Netis DL4422V as VDSL2 modem

I have aquired a Netis DL4422V Modem/Router but cannot persuade it to connect over VDSL. Has anyone manged this? or have any suggestions?

I have a good Wireless router setup already which is far more capable than the Plusnet Hub 1 and just needs a modem to connect so I hoped to use the DL4422V as a modem/bridge. However, it is currently failing to connect in any mode whatsoever.

Settings I have tried:
WAN Mode: DSL
PTM WAN...
  Enable VLAN
  VLAN ID: 101
  802.1p_Mark: 0
  Channel Mode: PPPoE
IP Protocol: IPv4
PPP Settings
  myname@plusdsl.net
  password: ●●●●●●●●

I would think this should get the DSL connection up but no luck - just keeps cycling through IDLE.L3, ACTIVATING, HANDSHAKING

DSL settings have all the ADSL schemes enabled as well as the VDSL2 profiles. Would this cause trouble?
G.Dmt, T1.413, ADSL2, ADSL2+, VDSL2, AnnexL, AnnexM
VDSL2: 8a, 8b, 8c, 8d, 12a, 12b, 17a, 30a
Bitswap, SRA

Fix

@ph1l  I'd give up on the 4422 if I were you. It's a very old product, theres no manual on the website http://www.netis-systems.com/Suppory/de_details/id/1/de/78.html .

If you want a modem then either get a BT HG612 from ebay or , if you want a cheap ish  new one, then either a Netgear DM200 or a tplink w9970 ( which can easily be set to bridge mode )

Thanks,
I've done as you suggest and given up on the DL4422V! It wasn't going to happen unless someone had the magic hint that made it all work.

Yes, the lack of information on the internet made it impossible to determine what might be wrong.
