Hi,
So I know my connection is good, all tested and I know the PlusNet router works all tested, so I have a connection of sorts. However the Plusnet standard router is dropping out infrequently and the speeds vary from 0 to 25, well below the 36 I'd expect. So, I have the Netgear D6220 which I used before, it's fibre ready and Plusnet suggested I try this out instead.
Trouble is I can't seem to get it working.
You can see my settings here, I've also tried this on PPoA and no joy.
Anyone got ideas on what might not be right?
I have typed the password in a few times, it just doesn't seem to want to connect.
Thanks
Fixed! Go to the fix.

If this is for VDSL/fibre, you forgot to tick the VLANID box.
PS you should also tick the get ip from the isp, even if you have a static ip.

Use VLANID | |

Does your Internet connection require a login? | |

I’ll check my D6400 setting when I get the chance, one obvious fault: IP address should be get dynamic address from ISP.

Thanks all, really quick replies, so thanks.
I can't test properly this evening as family on internet, but will try tomorrow. I have been able to change some settings without plugging cable in, just by switchign to the wifi even though its not connected.
I have switched to VLANID.
Transfer and DSL mode won't allow me to swap, keeps reverting back to ATM and Auto when I do this. Maybe it will when the cable is connected.
Wil try tomorrow when I can kick the family off and let you know how its gone.

Champnet, out of interest, why do you have PPPoE over PPPoA, I always thought A was slightly better/faster?

Both should work but I’ve always considered PPPoE to be more stable than PPPoA.
The experts may be along shortly to argue one is better than the other.....
have you got your connection working ?

Annoyingly I can't get to it until son and wife in bed!
If I downtime Netflix, Amazon or Fortnite I will be hassled all round the house ;o)
Quieter at night, so will try then. I fel more confident in the settings you all shared, so fingers crossed and I'll be back to report either way 🐵

@Tidyup VDSL2 login type is always PPPoE, you don't have a choice. PPPoA can be used on ADSL, it means Point-to-Point Protocol over ATM. VDSL uses a different transfer mode which is PTM, it all gets a bit technical to explain any further.🤔

I have one further question. The speeds seems over 25-30Mbps now, so much better. Download is 1-2 though and was 7-8 on Plusnet router, anything that can be tweaked that people know of on Netgear upload?

The graph shows this now, upload higher was with Plusnet router, lower with NetGear.
But download much better with Netgear, 25-35, was 1-20 on Plusnet.
