Need advise How to connect my LINKSYS 1900AC router

Hi, I have plusnet fibre extra but I am not happy with WiFi connection and speed , I have purchased the linksys WRT 1900 router
I was wondering if I need to get modem for that as well, also what modem do you suggest is BT openreach good ?

Thanks for reply , I am thinking to get bt open reach modem are they any good ? Any easy to setup? shall I go for HUawei or ECI?

Hi @Majidostadi,

Both manufacturer of Openreach modem are simple to set up, usually it is just a case of connecting the modem with the DSL cable and awaiting it gaining synchronisation with the exchange.

You can see more information on the difference in manufacturer here and looking through them, it appears the differences are minor (form factor and material.)

Whilst they are physically very similar I believe it's generally accepted that the Huawei HG612 3B is the better one. It supports G.INP and can more easily be unlocked to provide line stats if required.

Hi , I have got BT HUAWEI 3B one , I connect it to internet and connect it to router with cable . What step sould I take to connect to internet ?

You need to configure the WAN connection on the router for PPPoE with your PlusNet username ( with @plusdsl.net after it) and password.
