Looking for recommendations to replace an existing Netgear WNR1000v3 router to give improved wifi performance for home use a house with 3 levels, thick walls and the router located on the ground floor. Currently wifi is poor/ not available across the top level.
Current setup - BT Openreach modem - Echolife HG612, Netgear WNR1000v3 router.
Needs to be compatible with plus.net, Sky Q multiroom, to connect 20+ wireless devices +2/3 wired connections.
I believe that a mesh solution could work and any recommendations on brand/ model/ version (wifi 6 futureproofing?) would be appreciated.
Budget 3/400 GBP, but looking for best value and easy setup.
Thanks.

Most mesh systems will require you to replace your router to get all the benefits of them.
Wifi 6 easy to configure and use - look at an Eero pro.
If you want to just replace the wireless aspect look at BT Premium Whole Home - they just replace the wireless function in your existing router. Might be wifi 6.
I have no clue about Sky Q compatibility, but I understood that Sky Q creates it's own mesh anyway?

I agree that this will work but it's a cumbersome and power hungry solution to have a separate modem, router and mesh unit at the base station.
The HG612 modem plus a Mesh system with a built in modem sounds like a cleaner and more efficient approach.

@Baldrick1 I think you meant to say a mesh system with a built in router. 🙂

Whoops, I most certainly did. It's obviously a bit early for me on a Saturday morning.
@Kazari My apologies!
