Often when turning on MacBook or waking from sleep, it loses Wi-Fi connection. I had the same problem with my parents' one which is also a Plusnet Hub One.
It's only my Mac that does this; iPad and iPhone always maintain the connection. It was also fine with the broadband router I had before switching to fibre so it's just my Mac and Hub One routers that have rocky relationships.
It usually says it has no IP address once it drops and sometimes prompts for a password when I attempt to select it from the available Wi-Fi list.
A hub reset will get things running again but it's not ideal. Plus it's in the guest room which I can't enter when I have guests staying. I'm currently tethering with iPhone.
Any suggestions?

Split the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz WiFi signal in the router settings - that should cure it for you.
I did this and added a '5' on to the end of the SSID:
To split the wifi log into the router at http://192.168.1.254/
Go to 'Advanced Settings'
Enter admin password which is on removable plastic card on the rear of your Hub
continue to advanced settings
Click the wireless tab
Click the 5Ghz tab.
You should then add '-5G' or similar to the end of the current wireless SSID, this will easily identify it on the wireless networks list that your PC detects.
You should make sure that 'Sync with 2.4 GHz' is set to NO.
Then click apply.
If it helped click the thumb
If it fixed it click 'This fixed my problem'

Done. Thankyou.
So does that mean the Mac was going rabbit-in-headlights when it couldn't "choose" a frequency?

Hi @eddy_p,
Thank you for following those steps, please let us know if you continue to experience any connection problems. That's correct, Macs can sometimes struggle to pick a frequency when connected on a dual band signal.
