Linking to Dyson by wifi on 2g

Have just taken Fibre Broadband with a hub one router.

We have a Dyson Air Purifier which can only link by wifi on 2g

Cannot see how to get a 2g signal.

Any help would be appreciated

Bob

Re: Linking to Dyson by wifi on 2g

By default the router combines the 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies into a single channel. The easiest way to get just a 2.4GHz channel is to turn off this channel bonding and give the 5GHz channel a slightly different SSID (add something like -5 to the end of the name).

Hi @bc157 and welcome to the forums.

You can split the 2.4 / 5Ghz wireless network and connect the device by following the guide below.

1) To connect to your Hub One, you will need to open a browser and go to http://192.168.1.254 or by clicking here.

2) You should come to a page with information about your connection, click 'Advanced Settings' at the top and it will ask you to sign in with a Password. This is located on the back of your router under 'Admin Password'

3) Select the option for 'Wireless' followed by '5 GHz Wireless'. What we want to do to begin with is turn 'Sync with 2.4 GHz Wireless' to 'Off' and update the SSID to be different. The easiest way would be to add '-5G' to the end so it is identified as its own connection.

4) Re-scan for available wireless networks and enter your wireless key.

Thank you
