Is my i phone using 2.4 or 5 ghz ?

I'm an amateur so plain language please. I have a home security camera system and part of the set up requires pairing a camera with my i phone 4s to operate and communicate with the camera.

It won't pair and the first check i have to do is to make sure that the phone is using 2.4 ghz not 5. I have no idea how to do this and despite looking at various other web sites still can't figure it out. Have been into the router and can't even see my i phone connected to the wi fi, let alone what frequency it's using. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If it's not showing in the home network in the router that's a little odd-unless it's named something else in there. It would also be helpful to know which router you're using.

All that said mind I don't think the iPhone 4s can use 5Ghz Wi-Fi anyway so it must be on the 2.4 band.

Separate the 2.4 and 5 GHz wifi networks as described in this link:

Then you can choose whether your iphone connects to 2.4 or 5 GHz wifi.

I would check that your phone wifi is turned on and is actually connected to your router.  Ensure it is not using the mobile data network (3G/4G etc).

As @Kdog said, the iphone 4s cannot use the 5Ghz Band so that is not the issue.

Hi, thanks for the help, the router is a sagemcom 2704N.

If the phone only uses 2.4 then that answers my query, thanks again !

That confirms it from both sides then-the sagemcom is 2.4 only too it regardless of the phone.
