Is it just me...

...or the Plusnet Routers really ugly?

I mean white with pink writing looks OK on a web page, but in amongst all my black/metallic computer gear it looks really out of place and I suspect it will get grubby-looking too, based on past experience.

Yes it’s ugly.

 Very little money will buy you a  BT Smarthub 6 from an auction site such as EBay. They are black and have better performance.

Setting instructions are here. https://community.plus.net/t5/My-Router/Using-the-BT-Smarthub-6-on-a-Plusnet-Account/m-p/1587673#M85...

Re: Is it just me...

Using the phrase If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck
It looks bad
Other people think it works bad
Plusnet says it may not be fit for purpose. That is plusnet says it's bad.
It's bad.

Re: Is it just me...

Thanks guys, so the answer is to use one of my old routers and change the settings - I have a BT one that is two years old (which was better than my current, NowTV one), so will probably use that.

Re: Is it just me...

@Thorsson64

If you have a two year old BT router it's probably a Smarthub 6. For information the Plusnet Hub One is an even older BT Home Hub 5A repackaged in an ugly case with tweeked and flaky Plusnet firmware installed.

A couple of things to watch when installing a BT branded hub.

Do not use a special character in your Plusnet account password. Plusnet tell you to use one but this can be ignored.

Do not plug the DSL cable in until after you have entered your Plusnet credentials, as instructed in the above link.
