Installing replacement modem router.

I'm round at the in-laws, and their wifi is weak and keeps dropping out. I've got a spare plusnet router at home from my days on ADSL, so I'm going to try this.

What settings do I need to transfer from the old to new modem? Just user name and password?

Is the password the same one used to log onto the account on the website? If not, where do I find it?

Thanks.

Re: Installing replacement modem router.

Hi @tonycollinet,

Thanks for getting in touch.

If you're using your old ADSL router at your in-laws' house, then you will just need their username and password to connect the router to their broadband. Do bear in mind that the router was only for ADSL and we cannot guarantee if it will work on other networks. I'd suggest instead that you ask them to contact their service provider for advice on Wi-Fi troubleshooting and how to extend the Wi-Fi on their router, that may help resolve the issue for future visits too.

Thanks - LF

Re: Installing replacement modem router.

To clarify - they are on plusnet ADSL.

I have their accout password for logging onto the account section of the plusnet website. Is that the same password as used for the ADSL login on the router?

Thanks.

Re: Installing replacement modem router.

Hi there.

Yup I can confirm the password to log in to the broadband account is the same as one you use in the router.

Let us know if you need any further assistance.
