Still having some horrendous wifi issues, I can be sat within 5 foot of the hubone and my iphone will still spinny wheel of doom til I drop the wifi and use my 4G data..Wired performance is spot on..

Try splitting the 2.4 and 5GHz bands, see https://community.plus.net/t5/My-Router/2-4ghz-and-or-5ghz-best-practice/m-p/1351966#M840
Try each band in turn and use the best.

That was one of the first things I did when I got the hub one. Doesn't matter if 5ghz is off, performance is atrocious.

i have the same problem with any Apple product. All my android devices work fine...

In my case, Android, Kindle, and Win 10 Laptops all have the same problem..

The PlusNet router is basic (a re-badged BT HH5) as per PlusNet's status as a "value" not premium brand.
You could consider getting a BT HH6 or the even newer SmartHub2 from eBay for aroung £30.
