Hub One file sharing

I've attached a usb stick to my Hub1 router in order to share data between my laptop and desktop (both running windows 10) but to get it to work I had to enable SMB1 protocol on both devices. Is the Hub1 enabled for SMB2?

No, hub one is only SMB1

Can it be updated to SMB2 as apparently there is a security issue with SMB1?

Depending on budget and how much you want the sharing I would recommend going down the Network Attached Storage (NAS) route.

I've tried a few different makes but now I would recommend a Synology over the cheaper options.

What I particularly like about it (as well as the obvious shared file storage) is that it will make any printer with a USB connection shared (and able to be printed to by Apple devices).

The Synology is also capable of lots of other clever stuff which may or may not be of use.
