Hub One Orange wireless light on continuously.

Just noticed this is on. I have security set on 2.4GHz but have disabled 5GHz completely. Might the disabling of the 5G band be what is causing it to stay on. I didn't notice it was on when I was running both bands.

Re: Hub One Orange wireless light on continuously.

I'm sorry for stating the obvious but why not temporarily switch the 5GHz band back on and find out?

Re: Hub One Orange wireless light on continuously.

I'd second Baldrick1's suggestion.

Let us know if the light goes off if you re-enable 5ghz.

From 31st October 2022, I no longer have a regular presence here as I’ve moved on to a new role.

Re: Hub One Orange wireless light on continuously.

Was intending to test that when i get home tonight. Noticed the light on as I went out and as it upgraded to fibre first thing this morning I was just wondering what was going on. Thought someone might know.

Re: Hub One Orange wireless light on continuously.

That is the problem.

Seems a bit stupid to have a warning light for no security on a band that is turned off. Even though it does have security set anyway!

The light is an irritation and it seems I can't turn it off without turning 5GHz back on!

I'll give it 2 weeks training and this router will be consigned to the attic for emergencies. Its wifi performance is pretty poor anyway and it seems to struggle with too many concurrent connections hence me turning off 5G so as not to over stress the poor thing.

Re: Hub One Orange wireless light on continuously.

Being a Hub One suggests that you are on fibre. If so the long training period is a myth. It should have sorted itself in the first few days.

Re: Hub One Orange wireless light on continuously.

ok, a few days it is then. Changed from ADSL to fibre this morning.

i also want to give it some time as am running routerstats as this line has given me some grief in the past but seems to be improved now.
