Re: Hub One Firmware Updates

Would you believe it:

Plusnet Hub One | Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.237.2.2 | Last updated 31/01/18

It updated early morning - just been checking logs again and I can confirm that since factory resetting and NOT restoring our config, the router is looking to retrieve it's update files from the correct sever URL.

Bit of a poor setup if you ask me, but at least all is working.

This is a fantastic community with genuinely helpful people - thanks @bobpullen @Boshay and @SteveA

Could someone confirm that now @bobpullen has worked his magic, when another update is available for our router it will update on it's own and we won have to go through this hassle again?

Any idea what the new firmware offers in terms of features, fixes or security patches?

Hope all this has been worth it!  🙂 thanks again.

Re: Hub One Firmware Updates

@ChrisaLyd12,

Good news it worked and interesting that it seems to prove our observations.

I too would be keen to see the change log for the updates.

Have to echo your thanks to the community too, thanks all.

Cheers.

Boshay.

Re: Hub One Firmware Updates

@bobpullen,I have reset my router again and this time not restored the config file backup. The bottom of the webpage now says last updated 01/02/18 where as before it said unknown but the software version is still 4.7.5.1.83.8.226 ? Shouldn't it be version 4.7.5.1.8.237.2.2

Re: Hub One Firmware Updates

Did a reset.....

13:14:06, 10 Feb. ( 174.410000) CWMP: session completed successfully
13:14:05, 10 Feb. ( 173.440000) CWMP: HTTP authentication success from https://dbtpnhdm.bt.mo
13:13:58, 10 Feb. ( 166.950000) CWMP: Server URL: https://dbtpnhdm.bt.mo; Connecting as user: ACS username
13:13:58, 10 Feb. ( 166.950000) CWMP: Session start now. Event code(s): '6 CONNECTION REQUEST,7 TRANSFER COMPLETE,M Download,4 VALUE CHANGE'
13:13:54, 10 Feb. ( 162.370000) CWMP: Initializing transaction for event code M Download

Did a reload of config :

13:36:09, 10 Feb. ( 1064.550000) CWMP: session closed due to error: Could not resolve host
13:36:09, 10 Feb. ( 1064.510000) CWMP: Server URL: https://ceased.tr69.p; Connecting as user: ACS username
13:36:09, 10 Feb. ( 1064.500000) CWMP: Session start now. Event code(s): '0 BOOTSTRAP,4 VALUE CHANGE'

So for me reloading the config restores the ceased TR069 config.

I'm running:

Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.226 Last updated 11/02/17

Re: Hub One Firmware Updates

If you logon to the router

Navigate to Troubleshooting

Click on Event Logs

Select TR069 from the drop down

If you see things like

(23963.410000) CWMP: Server URL: https://ceased.tr69.p; Connecting as user: ACS username

Then you're on the ceased list

Re: Hub One Firmware Updates

So as far as we can see, and it would be great if @bobpullen could confirm this, to get your router off the ceased list and get updates the following needs to happen:

  1. PN put your router back on the active list
  2. You do a hard reset of the router
  3. Router then starts doing TR069 exchanges
  4. You DO NOT restore your config as this restores the ceased TR069 configuration. You have to manually rebuild your config from the ground up
  5. After some length of time your router gets a firmware update

Re: Hub One Firmware Updates

Hi Steve apologies if this is in the wrong topic but I've been had the plusnet one router for several months with no firmware update so is it possible it is on the ceased list. I've done a couple of factory resets recently but no change.

3. Firmware version: Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.226 Last updated Unknown

Is it possible to push the firmware upgrade through.

Thanks in advance

Re: Hub One Firmware Updates

I can't do anything about pushing updates - I don't work for Plusnet

Re: Hub One Firmware Updates

My log seems to suggest that my router is on the ceased list, could someone let me know how I go about getting it off the list. I understand once it's off the list I need to reset the router and let it update.

Re: Hub One Firmware Updates

@Kaz, looks like your router was updated shortly after you posted?

@danhall1, your device is already on the latest build.

@sotheran, do you still need somebody to check the status of your router, or have you since sorted it?
