Re: How to get the latest firmware update?

Hi @Katie114

It's unlikely a firmware update will fix that.

Could you give the steps Here a go first letting us know how it goes?

From 31st October 2022, I no longer have a regular presence here as I’ve moved on to a new role.

Re: How to get the latest firmware update?

My firmware seems never to have updated and I can find no way to do this in the Hub One settings. Can you correct this? My software version is 4.7.5.1.83.8.237.2.2. I'm mostly concerned to stay current with security features.

Re: How to get the latest firmware update?

@brucewarren Sorry to hear this.

I've removed and readded your router on our systems.

If you can reset the router using the pinhole on the back you should get the new firmware within 24-48 hours

Re: How to get the latest firmware update?

@brucewarren, your firmware has been updated. Note that the .237.2.2 build *is* the latest that's been pushed to certain customers. We're aiming to have everyone updated to 4.7.5.1.83.8.263 in the coming months.

Re: How to get the latest firmware update?

In the last few days since my firmware update, my streaming audio content has glitches and stutters (youtube & spotify). No problems with locally stored media. I show latency as rather high with the greatest cause from ndis.sys. See attached latency report. Is it possible that the change from old to new firmware version is related to this network & latency issue?

Re: How to get the latest firmware update?

It's possible it may be caused by the firmware update.

Are your devices connecting over WiFi or using a wired connection to your router?

I'd be surprised. There are some changes to the wi-fi drivers in the latest firmware, so could be that these changes don't play as nicely in your environment.

If we're talking wired connections, then I can't think of anything that would influence that Huh

Re: How to get the latest firmware update?

The devices where I'm having problem are connected by Wi-Fi.

Re: How to get the latest firmware update?

Hi @brucewarren

Thanks for the update.

For the sake of completeness, I'd recommend running through the troubleshooting here and here. If you're still experiencing just wifi drops after that point in time, it may be worth rolling you back to your original firmware, unless @bobpullen has any additional input.

Best wishes

Dave

Re: How to get the latest firmware update?

Troubleshooting:

Location is good, and elevated. Same as before.

Changed channel from Smart Automatic to manual, but same channel which has no interference.

Changed 2.4G and 5G to not sync and changed SSID's to be different.

No difference to latency issues. Sorry.

Re: How to get the latest firmware update?

What device are we talking about? I can only see one connected at present (admittedly it's late), and it has a healthy signal. I'm happy to roll the firmware back, however you'll lose any config changes you've made (port forwarding, wi-fi network/pasword changes etc.) and I'm not overly confident it's going to fix things.

Be good to rule it out though.

Re: How to get the latest firmware update?

Last night I had turned off the wifi on one computer allowing a comprehensive AV scan to run a bit quicker. The whole PC has been very sluggish when connected to the internet. The scan came up clean. I also uninstalled the wifi driver and had it reinstall, with no effect.
