How can i increase the range and strength of my router?

Can anyone offer any proven advice?  i need to get wifi access to the end of my garden to facilitate running my spotify account for a party.   any ideas how this can be done?  Currently I lose all signal strength about 4 paces into the garden.

If you are using our Hub One or any other dual band router, ensure you are using the 2.4Ghz range on this, this has longer range than the 5Ghz variant.

If this still has issues you may need to look into a range extender, which can be something specifically made for this or you can re-purpose some other routers to reach the same goal.

As far as actually increasing the range on a router you currently have, this generally isn't possible without custom firmware on the router to allow this and it is generally not advised as you could end up using a radio spectrum designated for another purpose

Buy long mains extension lead, & plug in extender with wifi output/ethernet port  at end of garden.

Probably a bit late now but you could always look at a standalone Wireless Access Point with appropriate antennae or even an outdoor one (examples: http://www.tp-link.com/en/products/list-4581.html).
