Draytek Vigor 2862n works with Plusnet / Forec 9VDSL

I’m just purchased 2862n and cannot get it to connect to the internet.

Any ideas?

Thanks for your post, @adutton.

Whilst we're not able to give a step by step guide for 3rd party routers, we can certainly give you the relevant settings. Please see the help page via this link.

Let us know how it goes.

Yes, it does work although I have found the the VDSL and 5g WiFi connection very unreliable.

I would be interested in knowing how you get on.

@klemm  those look like Adsl settings, I thought the OP was on an Fttc connection.

@adutton  apart from entering your username & password , for fttc you need to ensure that the enable vlan tag insertion is enabled and set to 101

@MisterW, can I ask why that is? In my Draytek 2925 I have this:

WAN One VLAN Settings

For both of my connections and it works for me and has done for years? Am I missing a trick here?

Re: Draytek Vigor 2862n works with Plusnet / Forec 9VDSL

@Anonymous  you have a modem in front of your 2925 which is doing the VLAN tagging

I'm assuming the op wants to use the VDSL capabilities of the 2862 and therefore will need to enable the VLAN tagging

I do indeed, and I see it's default set to 101. Thumbs_Up

Sounds like you haven't got the username correct. It should be of the format username@plusdsl.net where username is the same as you use to logon to the member centre at www.plus.net

@adutton

The Draytek 2862 will work, I'm connected using a 2860 typing this.

Try this guide from Draytek  for BT with your Plusnet username and password instead of the BT one.

https://www.draytek.co.uk/support/guides/vigor-2860-vdsl-setup

You need (harmless) registration to see it.

Plusnet.jpg

These are my settings for VDSL.

The username and password are set on the page that looks like it is doing ADSL.

They are the pppoe settings which are also used for vsdl.

Re: Draytek Vigor 2862n works with Plusnet / Forec 9VDSL

@klemm

I did have a run of instability on the 2860 which went when I upgraded the firmware. I'm currently on 3.8.9.5_BT which seems OK and I think 3.8.9.3_BT was OK as well.

From the title of this topic, it implies that @adutton is on an old Force9 account,

If that is the case the username format for Force9 was - username@f9.co.uk

@adutton  login to the Plusnet Member Centre,

and then check your username format on this page - Connection Details - shown as "Login name"
